THE WORK WE DID FOR CLOUD CUCKOO FESTIVAL (http://www.cloudcuckooland.org/) WAS FOR THE CHARITY BRAKE THE CYCLE! (http://www.brakethecycle.org.uk/ - I’VE JUST NOTICED THAT OUR MUGS ARE ON THE HOME PAGE!!!!) We raised £400 for the charity doing facepainting! :D it’s such a great cause and this statement from the blog really resonates with me:
‘Every once in a while, we need to trust ourselves, trust each other, and most importantly, trust the universe. It’s time to set our moral compass, close our eyes tight and take a running leap. The adventure starts today. Be a part of it.’
It was really great to be part of something and work for a festival that is looking beyond the scope of just entertainment. The food was ethically sourced and even the cups were for reuse. Fernhill Farm was a great setting. It was a tiny festival, 800 people there at the busiest time, but I really think they are setting a precedent for how festivals should be done! There was a sense of community. We all brought our own cup, plate and spork to make sure there wasn’t a huge stack of waste at the end of the festival. HATS OFF! Proud to have been a part of it. Looking forward to doing it again in 2012.
Here are more of my snaps from the festival.
